The show has never really milked the idea of Casey posing as a Buy More employee for all its worth, but here there was some wonderful material for him, as Casey channeled his hatred of "insurgents" towards the employees who were hindering Morgan. While I cry foul a bit on Lester being so openly hostile given he almost lost his job last week (and one would think would be remiss to endanger it again), this storyline led to some great moments, as Morgan found a very notable new ally in Casey. Meanwhile, there was a really strong Buy More plotline in this episode, as we saw Morgan suffering from disdain and a number of pranks, in the wake of his promotion. The Charles in Charge dorky sister turned hot hottie made for a fun pairing with Stone Cold, while the way Shaw saved Chuck - having Sarah temporarily take control of the plane via remote control - was cool and fun (though one presumes terrifying for the plane's crew). The confrontation between Chuck and Hugo eventually led to a sword fight, and come on – who can resist the awesomeness of a Chuck/Stone Cold sword fight?! Josie Davis played the other Ring operative on the plane – posing as a flight attendant. The other people Chuck met on the plane weren't quite as friendly, starting with Ring hitman Hugo, played by none other than Stone Cold Steve Austin – whose real life background got an in-joke when Hannah guessed he was a pro wrestler.
Kristin Kreuk plays Hannah and I'd say so far, so good, as she was appropriately charming and appealing during this episode, giving perhaps the most charismatic performance of her career thus far. The set up too, was clever – Shaw sent Chuck to Paris for his first solo mission, but the twist was the mission was actually on the plane itself.īefore everything went to hell, Chuck met Hannah on the plane, who was something of a dream girl for our hero – beautiful and as much of a computer geek as he is. Perhaps that's because it had such a specific setting, as Chuck spent nearly the entire episode onboard a plane to Paris. On its own though, this felt like a satisfying movie by the conclusion.
This was a terrific episode of Chuck, which told a very fun, interesting story that felt completely fulfilling, while also laying the groundwork for plenty to come.
